Great Dixter was the family home of Christopher Lloyd, who devoted a lifetime to creating one of the most experimental, exciting and constantly changing gardens. In summer it's a riot of colour.
The house was built in the 15th century and Christopher's father Nathaniel, commissioned Sir Edwin Lutyens in 1910 to restore the property to its medieval splendour including the great hall, the largest surviving timber-framed hall in the country.
